Founder of the “Set Apart” concept, Cathy Woodhas been involved in ministry for over 20 years. She is currently the Worship Pastor at Kingswood UMC and has been leading worship in three distinctly different services for 5 years. Prior to coming to Kingswood, Cathy and her husband Flint were Youth Pastors at San Jacinto UMC where Cathy lead Youth Worship for 2 years. They began their ministry at Christian Heritage Church which they were at for 10 years. Cathy served on the Praise and Worship team as well.
Cathy grew up in a very musical home. With the encouragement of her family, she mastered the keyboard, the guitar, a variety of other instruments, and felt the call to ministry at the age of 15. She has been involved in traditional, non-denominational, and charismatic churches. God has gifted Cathy as a singer/songwriter and she has been prolific with a wide range of original music, written to His glory and honor.
When asked, “Why the ‘Set Apart’ ministry?", Cathy answers, “One of the things I feel the Lord requires of me is to train up others and give them emotional, spiritual, and physical support so that they may “test their wings” and fly. I want to give people opportunities, with others around them to help if things get shaky.” |
